HTC has unveiled first of its windows phone 8 smartphones, with 8X being the flagship device while 8S as dual core smartphone for those with slightly lower budgets.

HTC 8X

HTC 8X is powerful smartphone with two Krait cores clocked at 1.5GHz coupled with 1GB of RAM. On top of it there would be a Adreno 225 GPU to smoothen the graphic experience.

More compact than of HTC 8X, the HTC 8S comes with lower specs and of course at a better price.

This dual core powered smartphone is going to fill the mid to higher range slot in the market with more focus on price conscious customers.

Best Cheap Android Smartphones in Pakistan

Buying the best phone (in terms of specs) is not possible for everyone, and its also not recommendable if you are a newcomer in the world of smartphones, or even if your needs aren’t that lavish.

After doing a brief review of dual-core Android smart phones, we thought of sharing the list of inexpensive budget Android smartphones.

The following phones were selected mainly for people who are new in this smartphone world or for those who can’t afford expensive phones (only the phones with low prices and rich feature set were selected).

Huawei IDEOS – Rs. 6,999

Huawei IDEOS was first introduced by Zong for Rs.15,999, which was later revised and price was lowered to Rs.10,999 but now its available for just Rs. 6,999 only. Huawei IDEOS is also available with Ufone.

Huawei IDEOS, probably the cheapest Android phone, has got a 528Mhz ARM 11 processor along with 256Mb RAM and 200Mb of expandable memory.

The phone runs on the aged Android 2.2 Froyo. The screen is a bit small at 2.8 inches and has a resolution of 240×320. This phone hasn’t got killer features, but at this price it does give a bang-for-the-buck.

HTC Explorer – Rs. 12,490

The HTC Explorer has got a 3.2 inch touchscreen with a resolution of 320×480. The OS of the phone is HTC Sense 3.5 running on Android 2.3. The phone has got a RAM of 512 Mb on a 600Mhz Cortex A5 processor with 90Mb expandable memory.

The phone has a 3mp camera and runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The phone is currently being offered by Zong for Rs. 14,900.

Samsung Galaxy Y Duos – 15,090

Samsung Galaxy Y Dous is basically the dual-sim version of the Galaxy Y. It has got a 3.14 inch touchscreen with a resolution of 320×240.

The OS running is touchwiz covered on Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

Galaxy Y Duos has got a 832Mhz ARMv6 processor along with a 290Mb of RAM with a expandable memory of 160Mb.

Sony Ericsson live with Walkman – Rs. 17,290

Sprint Announces HTC Evo View – 4G US Version Of The HTC Flyer Tablet

The HTC Flyer finally comes to the US. This 7-inch HTC tablet was previously revealed at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. Sprint has just announced that it is going to be the first carrier in the US to get the HTC Evo View, which is the US version of the HTC Flyer tablet.

The difference between HTC Flyer and HTC Evo View?

Actually, the HTC Evo View is similar to the HTC Flyer except the fact that it has 4G capability and little cosmetic changes. Other than that, the HTC Evo View still has that 1.5GHz Snapdragon processor, 32GB internal memory, 5-megapixel rear camera, 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi. The HTC Evo View can also act as a wireless hotspot for up to eight devices, meaning that eight devices will be able to share the internet connection that the HTC Evo View can create. A stylus pen is also shipped with the device itself.

It is interesting to note that the HTC Flyer runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread and not the tablet optimized Android 3.0 Gingerbread. However, Sprint has announced that it plans to update the HTC Evo View to Android 3.0 Honeycomb once the device is actually released. So it is expected the Sprint will roll out the Honeycomb update for HTC Evo View following its sales day.

Price of the HTC Evo View

Sprint is yet to reveal the pricing details of HTC Evo View. We'll report once the prices are announced. A summer release is planned.
